Sciverse Solutions is opening its new headquarters in Pune, where the company develops its diagnostic platforms end to end — the assay chemistry, the instrument, and the artificial intelligence that interprets the result — within a single facility. The 10,000-square-foot headquarters brings Sciverse’s scientists and engineers together across three connected laboratories, integrating assay development, instrumentation and artificial intelligence that most medical technology companies distribute across separate suppliers and geographies. In the biology laboratory, scientists develop the assay chemistry that identifies disease in a patient sample, spanning immunoassays, molecular and nucleic-acid tests, and gene sequencing. In the engineering laboratory, teams build the instrument itself — the optical detection system that reads a result, the microfluidics that route a single drop of sample through the device, and the biosensors that convert a biological reaction into a measurable signal. In the artificial-intelligence laboratory, running on Sciverse’s own servers, engineers develop SciVision, the company’s software that interprets the signal and drives the instrument. The headquarters is located in Pune, home to the Serum Institute of India and one of the country’s densest concentrations of diagnostics and medical-device companies, hospitals and manufacturers — placing Sciverse’s research, engineering and manufacturing partners within close reach of one another. As demand for faster, more accessible diagnosis grows worldwide, Sciverse intends to expand its work from Pune — developing medical technology designed in India, for patients in India and beyond.
eNLife Research, a Bengaluru-based deep tech startup incubated at Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID), Indian Institute of Science, is building an affordable, AI-driven diagnostic platform for Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other neurodegenerative diseases. The company has raised Rs 6 crore in a seed funding round led by Piper Serica VC Fund. The capital will be deployed to build and validate eNLife's blood-based biomarker platform, expand its Bengaluru-based R&D team, and take the company's first diagnostic assay from prototype to clinical-grade validation. eNLife is working towards making early Alzheimer's detection accessible to patients in India years before conventional diagnostics can identify the disease. The startup is developing a blood test that screens for a panel of 5 to 7 biomarkers linked to onset of AD like amyloid beta and detrimental forms of tau, the two hallmark proteins associated with Alzheimer's pathology. It is also designing next-generation assays capable of simultaneously tracking 25 to 100 biological markers to identify multiple forms of dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases years before the onset of clinical symptoms. The company is currently collaborating with researchers associated with leading institutions, including the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Hyderabad, and the Centre for Brain Research (CBR), Bengaluru, to develop India-specific biomarker datasets.
Mumbai-based startup Avni Wellness, a science-backed women's health brand building an integrated ecosystem across menstrual hygiene, cycle nutrition, and awareness-led care, has raised Rs 4 crore in a strategic funding round as it looks to scale its operations in India’s rapidly evolving femtech and women’s wellness market.The company operates in a category that is undergoing a structural shift, moving away from fragmented hygiene-led consumption toward lifecycle-based health models that integrate nutrition, preventive care, and long-term hormonal wellness. The feminine hygiene products market is projected to reach Rs 70.20 billion by 2025, reflecting steady category growth. However, women’s nutritional and hormonal wellness remains significantly underpenetrated in comparison, indicating a large whitespace for science-led brands to build more integrated and preventive health solutions. The round was led by Proteus Partners, Avni's earliest institutional backer, with the team playing an active role in building the ecosystem alongside the founder. Operator-investors Puru Gupta and Sreejith Moolayil (ex co-founders of True Elements) bringing direct D2C category expertise, while Dr A. Velumani (ex founder, Thyrocare) and impact investor Somya Nigam invested through Bharat ke Super Founders. Avni Wellness said the capital will be used to strengthen its digital commerce engine, expand its cycle nutrition portfolio, and scale its women led micro entrepreneur network to 10,000 entrepreneurs across Bharat. Avni Wellness’ portfolio includes India’s first patented antimicrobial reusable pad and a liposomal iron supplement aimed at better nutrient absorption to address widespread iron deficiency among Indian women. The brand also offers solutions across PCOS care, calcium support, UTI and vaginal health, and seed-based hormonal nutrition, creating a comprehensive lifecycle approach to women’s health.

The framework recognised startups demonstrating strong clinical relevance, implementation readiness and the potential to address real-world healthcare challenges at scale. Winners of IHH Catalyst | Fortis India Edition 2026 Winner: eNext ICU – The startup is addressing the critical shortage of intensivists, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, through a 24x7 Tele-ICU platform that enables remote monitoring and management of critically-ill patients by experienced specialists. First Runner-Up: RNT Health Insights – The startup is developing AI-powered medical devices that enhance the early detection of upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancers during routine endoscopic procedures. Second Runner-Up: Cartogene Therapeutics – The startup is making advanced CAR-T cell therapy more accessible and affordable for patients with blood cancers in India. Launched in February, this year as the first regional edition of IHH Healthcare’s global incubator platform, the programme received an overwhelming response from the healthcare startup ecosystem, attracting 195 applications from across India. Following a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process, 10 startups were selected for the inaugural cohort. The ten startups selected for the inaugural cohort were: Cartogene Therapeutics CarePal Money Tatvacare MicroHeal RNT Health Insights Nalagenetics Sunfox Technologies eNext ICU Kubo Care Cureous Labs Collectively, the inaugural cohort showcased promising innovations across the programme’s five priority areas, spanning patient journey and workflows, preventative and predictive care, chronic disease management, multidisciplinary care and oncology. Together, they reflect the breadth of healthcare innovation progressing towards clinical validation and real-world adoption within the Fortis ecosystem. Throughout the programme, startups worked closely with Fortis clinicians, operational leaders and functional experts to refine their solutions, validate use cases, and explore pathways for deployment within real healthcare environments. The programme provided access to mentorship, clinical expertise, hospital infrastructure, regulatory guidance, cybersecurity frameworks, interoperability support, and commercialisation pathways.
Gurugram-based startup Age Care Labs, India's most comprehensive elder care platform operating through its brands Emoha and Epoch Elder Care, has raised Rs 85 crore ($9 million) in its Series B1 funding round. The Series B1 is part of a larger Series B round of Rs 250 crore ($30 million), expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2027. The round saw participation from Rainmatter (Zerodha), Pegasus Finvest and several other prominent family offices, alongside Shrem Group. The fresh capital will be used to strengthen Age Care Labs' integrated elder care platform, expand its service offering, invest in technology, strengthen healthcare capabilities and accelerate its next phase of growth across India. Alongside its strategic investment, Shrem will also partner with Emoha to establish Shremoha, a premium senior independent living platform designed for India's rapidly growing senior population. The partnership brings together Shrem Group's expertise across real estate, hospitality, infrastructure and long-term capital with Emoha’s operational experience and geriatric depth in elder care. Together, the two organisations aim to build integrated senior living communities that combine independent living, wellness, hospitality and access to professional care under one platform. India's senior population is growing rapidly, accompanied by rising life expectancy, changing family structures and increasing demand for professionally managed senior living communities. As aspirations among older Indians evolve, there is growing demand for environments that offer independence, safety, community engagement and access to healthcare without compromising quality of life. The round included participation from Andrew and Alfredo, founders of Papa.com, and a leading family office from the Middle East. At a time when investors are pouring billions into AI startups promising to revolutionise healthcare with futuristic technologies, Mykare.ai is focused on a far more fundamental problem: helping clinics and hospitals improve patient access, engagement and overall experience through better operational efficiency. The startup is building an AI-native healthcare operating system that helps clinics and hospitals grow by automating the entire patient journey, from patient acquisition and appointment booking to follow-ups, feedback, and retention. Founded by Senu Sam, Mykare.ai aims to help healthcare providers scale with a single intelligent AI layer that works across fragmented systems. Its AI agents can acquire new patients, identify patient intent, answer calls through voice agents, book appointments, manage follow-ups, collect feedback, and automatically update CRM records, creating a unified patient journey. Mykare has expanded across the United States, United Kingdom, Middle East, and India, and currently has a waiting list of more than 20 hospitals and healthcare providers. Chennai-based startup MrMed, a direct-to-patient platform for critical care and super-specialty medicines, has announced the establishment of its physical presence in Guwahati. The move strengthens MrMed’s ability to serve patients across Northeast India, a region where access to high-value, tightly regulated medicines has historically been constrained by geography, limited pharmacy infrastructure, and the high cost of specialty therapies. Guwahati represents a natural choice for MrMed. As the primary healthcare gateway for the Northeast, the city serves patients across Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh, states where specialty pharmacy infrastructure remains sparse. Bengaluru-based healthcare startup ‘Artelus’ - an AI-based provider of healthtech solutions, aiming to enhance diagnosis and treatment for improved patient outcomes, was recognised as the winner of Startup India’s Drishti HealthTech Challenge, a joint initiative by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Roche Pharma India. Aimed at identifying and supporting healthtech startups in India to develop transformative, scalable solutions for some of the country’s most important health challenges, the Drishti HealthTech Challenge received high-impact applications from 80+ startups working in the areas of digital health. The Jury comprising of retinal health experts, startup mentors and select members of the Roche India leadership evaluated the applications through a rigorous, multi-stage evaluation criteria focused on problem relevance, impact potential, market readiness, leadership credibility, and regulatory, legal & IP moats. Artelus emerged as the winner and will receive a financial grant of Rs 35 lakh to co-develop, enhance and pilot its pioneering solution in partnership with Roche Pharma India. The award ceremony, hosted at the Swiss Embassy in New Delhi in the presence of Maya Tissafi, Ambassador of Switzerland to India and Bhutan, marks another milestone in Indo-Swiss collaboration, driven by Roche's partnership with Startup India and DPIIT to strengthen the healthcare ecosystem in India.
US-based Waters Corporation and IMU Biosciences, a UK-based biotechnology startup, have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the development of IMU's next-generation AI-powered High Definition (HD) Immunology platform. The partnership brings together Waters Biosciences' advanced flow cytometry and single-cell technologies, including BD FACSDiscover Cell Analyzers, BD flow cytometry reagents with BD Horizon™ Real Dyes, BD Rhapsody Instruments, and BD OMICS-One™ WTA Next Assay and Protein Panels, with IMU's HD analysis and proprietary AI and machine learning analytics, that can reproducibly characterise the immune system in real time, to turn complex immune data into insights at scale across discovery, translational, and clinical research applications. IMU measures the immune system in unprecedented detail, delivering more than 100 million data points from a single blood sample, combining HD multiomic analysis with machine learning analytics. IMU is building the world's largest immune dataset, with unrivaled access to patient samples and population-wide clinical data, establishing a universal standard for immune profiling. The companies intend to pursue additional studies in translational research for novel biomarker discovery to enable clinical applications in flow cytometry.
